OH MY GOD I'M STILL SICK >_<

My sickness seems to have turned into strep throat the past couple of days. My cough and cold have completely gone away but now this... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD RECOVER!

Case internet is also sucking it up this weekend. I can't do anything.

First (make that second) Snow of the Year!

It started snowing in Cleveland already. I want to think of it as a good thing, but this just means it will be cold and dreary for the rest of my stay here at college. At least I have a heater to keep myself warm during those lonely nights of endless programming. I've almost got my JET application done. It needs to be sent in by this friday at the very latest.

I spent my Saturday at anime marathon. After the recent merge of Japan Connection and Anime Society, we decided to make the marathon more of a convention style than it was previously. In past years all it consisted of was 2 rooms of anime, a trivia contest, and food. Traditionally only anime society members attended. This year we had record attendance with the addition of a gaming room, panel room, and cosplay contest. It turned out really well. I only wish I had remembered my camera! My night was spent entirely in the gaming room playing such favorites such as Smash Bros, DDR, Beatmania, and Soul Caliber 4. I also spent some time helping in the kitchen and staffing the snack bar. Overall, it was pretty fun.

Sunday I worked on homework all day. The good thing is, I'm done now until friday Japanese ^_^

And of course, it snowed yesterday!!!

Snowing!

Hmmm

Ok well maybe I don't need to buy Mirrors edge after reading some of the reviews. I'll rent it over Thanksgiving break though.

I just bought Banjo-Kazooie. Yay!

I think I might be getting better finally. It took an ENTIRE week but my cough and sore throat are finally starting to reside. Now with just a little more coaxing, it will be completely gone! Go Vitamin C! Go other drugs!

I've been sleeping for 14+ hours a day recently. I skipped Japanese on Friday and some classes on Thursday for sleepy-time. Today I'll be taking it easy at Anime Marathon. I don't care if I'm an officer. Since I'm sick I can't help make food and I can't do any physical labor. So there!

Of Pain and Sickness

I seem to have caught a cold in the past couple of days. I woke up Monday feeling like "meh" but when it extended to Tuesday well... That just sucked.

Tuesday morning I had an exam. I did the best I could considering I was still drowsy from the Nyquil and very tired from the lack of sleep. I took a nap afterwards and woke up for compilers. Compilers was canceled. YAYAYAYAYAY!!!! I spent the rest of the day lazying around my room playing Viva Pinata and the like.

Today I still don't feel much better. When I get home from class I am going straight to bed again.

Look at the brightside, I don't have any homework due until Friday! Everything has been postponed until next week. Lucky Lucky...

Back in the Groove

It's been a while since I posted anything of relevance to my life. This past week was pretty hectic what with the programming project due last Friday and all. I spent all Thursday night working on it to implement some new features. From here on out I need to keep working on it little by little each day so that doesn't happen again. On Friday night Emily's group all went to starbucks to redeem their pumpkin carving contest winnings. The starbucks here tastes just like it does in Japan. It's also just as expensive. We then went to see Wall-E at the film society. It was a really good movie.

Sunday I hung out with Emily all day. There was a Smash Bros Brawl tournament hosted by the residential college that we participated in. Sadly Emily lost her first 2 matches and was out. I won my first match, got absolutely destroyed my second, and the third came down to the wire (but I couldn't get the last hit). I wanna practice more!!!

Once we were out of the tourney we went and saw Kung Fu Panda. It wasn't as good as Wall-E, but still fun.

It's Finally Over

After 8 long years the democrats are back in the White House. It is definitely going to be an interesting next 4 years.

The gang came over and we had an election party in my room. We watched the election from about 8ish until midnight, when it was sure that McCain had no chance of catching up in the race. I was expecting the race to be closer than what it was. It seems America does have a brain after all. Or maybe more people got out and voted in this election.

Class Class More Class

We got compilers done Sunday night which was awesome. I spent Monday afternoon taking a nap and getting my reading done for the week. Now I just have to get working on the rest of my homework. This week shouldn't be too bad.

Monday at 6 was the juggling club event at Quiznos to celebrate their 5th anniversary on the triangle. We all got free subs for doing it ^_^ Jack and Steve just happened to be eating there when I showed up, so I told them to stay and get a free sub. Jack isn't actually in juggling club, but he can juggle well enough to fool the employees.

Later that night I watched the Incredible Hulk with Emily and her gang. It was much better than its predecessor thankfully. That's all the superhero movies that I missed out on this past year!

And She Says Yes!

Emily and I officially hooked up yesterday at Halloween at the Farm. I had asked her about it a couple of days ago during one of our late-night conversations and she said she would get back to me. During the bus ride over to the farm, she said she had made her decision and grabbed my hand. This marks the first time I've had a girlfriend since Tessa and I broke up. Here is a picture of her wearing my hat at juggling club:

Back to Saturday! For Halloween Steve dressed up as the Joker from the Dark Knight and I just went as a guy wearing pink and black (one of my normal dress attire.) We invited Claire over and all headed to Chipotle together. They have an event every Halloween in which you dress up like a burrito (aka wearing tinfoil) and you receive a free burrito! I attached a tinfoil feather to my hat, Claire mad a tie, and Steve had a knife and bracelet. The line was pretty long, but it only took about 30 minutes to get through. Claire's friends also came with us. They bought shakes from Tommy's while we waited.

Upon arrival at my place we watched the Dark Knight together. It was a pretty good movie and I saw no flaws with it. I wanna watch it again once it's out on DVD.

Once that was over, we hopped on a greenie to northside to visit Theta-Chi. Since last year they have been doing a haunted house / dance party at their pad. On the way there we ran into Emily and her suitemates so I stole her ramen hat and gave her my pink cowboy hat. We had to wait about half an hour to get into the house. While waiting we partied on the dance floor with Charles and Mike. Check out the costumes:

Sexy. I enjoyed the haunted house. Claire was clinging to everyone which made me chuckle.

Back on Southside, Steve and went to Emily's suite and joined them for the midnight showing of Saw. Everyone left after the movie was over so we started another one, The Departed. I fell asleep 3 or 4 times before we decided to pause and resume it another day.

As I mentioned before, Steve, Emily, and I went to Halloween at the farm on Saturday for the free food. We stole some hotdogs, made some smores, went on the haunted hayride, and cowered by the bonfire to keep warm. Fun fun!

Back at school, Emily went home while Steve and I went to Kristyn's 21st b-day party. We got busted by an RA but managed to get out of trouble because most of us there were of age! Lucky!

This morning the power went out while I was making pancakes. I managed to finish them while the griddle was still hot. They were delicious. The power continued to be out for the next couple hours so I decided to go skating. I'm getting much better at riding switch.

Now the power and internet is back, so time to get back to work!
